Synopsis

Love Unto Death is a French drama film directed by Alain Resnais. The story follows a couple, Simon and Elizabeth, who are deeply in love with each other. However, their love is put to the test when Elizabeth falls into a coma and Simon is faced with the decision of whether to let her go or keep her on life support.

As Simon grapples with this difficult decision, he is visited by a mysterious woman who claims to be Death. She offers him a deal: if he agrees to die in Elizabeth's place, she will wake up from her coma. Simon is torn between his love for Elizabeth and his fear of death, leading to a series of philosophical and existential conversations.

Love Unto Death explores themes of love, mortality, and the nature of existence. It challenges the audience to question the meaning of life and the choices we make in the face of death.
