Magic Mike is a 2012 American comedy-drama film directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, and Cody Horn.
The film follows the story of Mike Lane, a construction worker who moonlights as a male stripper at a club called Xquisite. Mike takes a young dancer named Adam under his wing and introduces him to the world of stripping.
As Adam gets more involved in the lifestyle, he begins to see the darker side of the industry, including drugs and exploitation. Meanwhile, Mike struggles to balance his job as a stripper with his aspirations of starting his own custom furniture business.
Throughout the film, Mike grapples with his identity and his place in the world, ultimately realizing that he wants more out of life than just being a stripper.
Magic Mike received positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success, spawning a sequel titled Magic Mike XXL in 2015.
