In April 1991, with big hopes of providing a better life for her family, 17 year old Maricris Sioson arrives in Japan to work as a club entertainer. After 4 months of work, she is admitted into a hospital in Fukushima. Her family is told she had hepatitis, but when they open her coffin they find that she has been beaten and stabbed to death. Human rights activist Cynthia Gallardo is determined to unravel the truth behind Maricris' death. Based on a true story.
