Synopsis

Montevideo: Taste of a Dream is a historical melodrama based on the book by famous sport journalist, Vladimir Stankovic. The screenplay was dramatized by renowned writers Srdjan Dragojevic and Ranko Bozic, under the direction of actor Dragan Bjelogrlic.

The story gives us a unique and nostalgic view into the 1930's of Belgrade, resurrecting old times and reminding us of a distinctive era when values and virtues were very different. The production teams of Intermedia Network bring the epoch to life, captivating audiences with the magic of cobblestone streets, the birth of radio, and the trend of cabaret nightclubs and Ford T model cars.

The show introduces a new generation of young actors playing historical figures, soccer gods, and players of popular clubs like BSK and Yugoslavia. The main characters are love, heroism, companionship, faith, honor, patriotism, and respect.

Throughout the episodes, the inhabitants of Belgrade are portrayed with their quirky personalities, ambitions, and innovations. The story revolves around the almost impossible trip to the first FIFA World Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay.
