Synopsis

The year is 1899, and Christian, a young English writer, has come to Paris to follow the Bohemian revolution taking hold of the city's drug and prostitute infested underworld. And nowhere is the thrill of the underworld more alive than at the Moulin Rouge, a night club where the rich and poor men alike come to be entertained by the dancers.

But things take a wicked turn for Christian as he starts a deadly love affair with the star courtesan of the club, Satine. But her affections are also coveted by the club's patron: the Duke. A dangerous love triangle ensues as Satine and Christian attempt to fight all odds to stay together but a force that not even love can conquer is taking its toll on Satine...

The soundtrack of Moulin Rouge! is a breathtaking fusion of classic and contemporary songs that perfectly capture the essence of the Bohemian revolution in 1899 Paris. Anthony Roberts
2/10

The soundtrack of Moulin Rouge! did not resonate with me due to its lack of authenticity in capturing the essence of the time period and setting of 1899 Paris. The modern pop and rock music incorporated into the film felt out of place and disrupted the immersion into the story's historical context.

George Mitchell
5/10

The orchestration and arrangements of the songs are rich and vibrant, enhancing the overall cinematic experience of the film.

Michelle Roberts

Overall, the soundtrack of Moulin Rouge! is a masterful blend of storytelling, emotion, and music that elevates the film to a whole new level of cinematic artistry.

Melissa Thompson

The orchestration and arrangements in the soundtrack are masterfully crafted, seamlessly blending different musical styles and genres to create a rich tapestry of sound. The use of operatic elements adds a dramatic flair to the songs, enhancing the storytelling and immersing the listener in the world of the Moulin Rouge.

Brian Rodriguez
5/10

The mix of popular songs from different eras blended seamlessly in the film's soundtrack adds a unique and modern twist to the period setting.

John Thompson

Additionally, I found the musical arrangements and vocal performances in the soundtrack to be overly theatrical and melodramatic, which detracted from the emotional impact of the storyline. The exaggerated vocal delivery and bombastic orchestrations seemed more fitting for a Broadway musical than a film set in a gritty underworld nightclub.

Daniel Gonzalez
5/10

The soundtrack of Moulin Rouge! perfectly captures the extravagant and passionate atmosphere of the bohemian revolution in Paris in 1899.

Lisa Nelson
6/10

The soundtrack's diversity in musical genres, from pop to rock to classical, showcases the eclectic tastes and influences of the characters in the film.

Ronald Scott
