In 1973, playing nice can get a little twisted... Set in 1973 and inspired by true events, 'American Primitive' tells the story of the chaos that ensues in the life of a teenager when he discovers that his widowed father is gay. Alternately comedic and tragic, the film captures the homophobia of the era against a backdrop of small-town America on Cape Cod. The film uses iconic music that expresses the artistic and experimental freedom of the early '70s.
