Parade's End is a five-part British television miniseries adaptation of the tetralogy of novels of the same name by Ford Madox Ford. It was first broadcast on BBC Two in August 2012. The series was written by Tom Stoppard and directed by Susanna White and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, and Adelaide Clemens.
The story follows the life of Christopher Tietjens, a government statistician from a wealthy family who is married to the beautiful but unfaithful Sylvia. As World War I breaks out, Tietjens finds himself torn between his duty to his country and his love for the young suffragette Valentine Wannop.
Parade's End explores themes of love, duty, and honor against the backdrop of a changing society and the horrors of war. The series received critical acclaim for its performances, writing, and production values, and was praised for its faithful adaptation of Ford's complex and nuanced novels.
