Synopsis

Pitch Perfect follows the story of Barden College, which is home to four different a cappella singing groups. The all-male Treblemakers and the all-female Bellas are the most antagonistic toward each other, with the Bellas making it to the national finals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAC) held at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The Bellas, the first all-female group to make the finals, face challenges with tired arrangements and a controlling lead, Aubrey Posen. Aubrey and co-lead Chloe Beale must rebuild the group from scratch for the upcoming season after an unfortunate incident at the finals.

Meanwhile, reluctant freshman Beca Mitchell, a loner aspiring to be a Los Angeles DJ or music producer, is encouraged by Chloe to audition for the Bellas. Beca clashes with Aubrey over the group's direction and zero tolerance policies, including no sex with any Treblemaker.

Beca's friendship with fellow music lover Jesse Swanson, a freshman Treblemaker, complicates matters as she must decide how far to break out of her shell and stay true to her musical leanings, potentially affecting her friendship with Jesse.
