Kristine is a teenager living an affluent life with her mother and auntie. Her mother is the only one managing the hacienda of her late father. Since her mother is not used to managing the business, the hacienda, which was made as a collateral in a bank, has a risk of getting confiscated by the bank due to unpaid debts. Meanwhile, high-schooler Kristine meets Mark at school and they start going together. She introduces him to her mother--who realizes that Mark is the son of her former boyfriend, whom she dumped in favor of a wealthy man. Mark's father is also the manager in the bank where Kristine's mother's hacienda is mortgaged. So the mother suspects that her former boyfriend is using his son Mark in his revenge, so she secretly tries to break up Kristine and Mark, and later she forbids Kristine to see or talk to Mark. Kristine gets confused, and her aunt tells her about her mother's past with Mark's father. Kristine feels that her mother's attitude towards Mark is unfair. Kristine leaves her house to spend some time in their hacienda. The mother realizes that she shouldn't do to Kristine what her parents did to her; she never fought for her true love, the small-time businessman who is now the high official in a bank and wealthier than her parents. In front of her husband's tomb, the mother gives Kristine and Mark her blessing.
