Synopsis

Jonathan Cross, a lover of extreme sports, is recruited by Alexi Petrovich to star in his sportive invention, Rollerball.

Jonathan accepts and learns the ropes of Rollerball: The players are on Rollerblades, trying to bring a heavy metal ball into a high goal. Also, there are motorcyclists around to bring momentum to the players.

Oh yes, and there are no rules in the game. During his skyrocketing career, Jonathan has to experience what Alexi has found out: Blood brings more viewing pleasure to the audience.

So, Alexi starts to bribe members of the different teams to cause more trouble than necessary on the field, and the viewers love it. Only a little later, Jonathan's life is already in extreme danger as well as those of his friends and teammates.

In a final game, Jonathan and his team have to fight for mere survival against their real opponent - their boss Alexi Petrovich.

The soundtrack of Rollerball failed to capture the high-energy and adrenaline-filled essence of the extreme sport portrayed in the movie. The music felt generic and uninspired, lacking the intensity needed to match the fast-paced action on screen.

Michael Moore
6/10

The soundtrack of Rollerball perfectly captures the intense and adrenaline-filled atmosphere of the sport portrayed in the movie. The fast-paced electronic beats and heavy metal guitar riffs create a sense of urgency and excitement that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Steven Walker

The choice of songs in the soundtrack did not effectively convey the emotional depth or complexity of the characters and their struggles in the story. The music often felt disconnected from the on-screen events, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the narrative.

One of the standout aspects of the Rollerball soundtrack is its ability to convey the emotional journey of the main character, Jonathan, as he navigates the dangerous world of the sport. The haunting melodies and melancholic tones underscore the personal struggles and sacrifices that Jonathan faces, adding a poignant and reflective layer to the narrative.

Lisa Clark

The music enhances the action sequences in the film, driving the pace of the Rollerball matches and adding a sense of urgency and excitement. The dynamic and energetic soundtrack truly elevates the viewing experience, making the audience feel as if they are right in the middle of the intense and dangerous world of Rollerball.

The use of repetitive electronic beats in the soundtrack became monotonous and distracting after a while, failing to enhance the dramatic or suspenseful moments in the film. It felt like a missed opportunity to elevate the overall viewing experience.

John Young
