Synopsis

The Banker is a drama film based on a true story that follows two African American entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris, who devise a plan to help African Americans gain access to real estate deals and bank loans during the 1950s and 1960s.

They recruit a white man, Matt Steiner, to pose as the head of their business empire while they act as a janitor and chauffeur. Their plan is successful, but they soon face challenges as their success attracts the attention of the federal government.

The Banker explores themes of race, class, and power as the characters navigate the complexities of the segregated South and the world of finance.
