Synopsis

The Dresden Files is a series of contemporary fantasy/mystery novels written by Jim Butcher. The story follows Harry Dresden, a professional wizard who works as a private investigator in Chicago. Dresden is the only wizard listed in the Chicago phone book and often finds himself solving supernatural crimes.

Throughout the series, Dresden faces various supernatural beings, including vampires, werewolves, and faeries, as he tries to maintain the balance between the human world and the supernatural world. He also deals with the White Council, a governing body of wizards, and the mysterious Black Council, who seek to manipulate events for their own gain.
