Actress Isabel has recently turned 40 and is unable to get new film or theater roles since the directors are looking for younger women. She is married to neurotic Ángel, a screenwriter who is working in his next cinema project with Susana, his producer and ex-wife.
After Isabel, Ángel, Susana and Carlos, Isabel's first husband, see their child off on a school excursion, Isabel agrees to organize a business dinner at her home for Diego, an important Argentinian actor, so they can negotiate his participation in a film.
During the dinner Carlos suddenly appears with a young girl, Álex, announcing that he is marrying her and moving to Brazil. But when Carlos suddenly dies a bit later, Ángel and Susana suspect that Isabel is guilty, starting a series of events, each crazier than the previous, through a long night where the surprises never end.
