Synopsis

The Pope of Greenwich Village is a crime drama film that follows the story of two cousins, Charlie and Paulie, who are small-time criminals in New York City. Charlie is a former mobster who is trying to go straight, while Paulie is a reckless gambler who is always looking for his next big score.

When Paulie gets in trouble with the mob, he convinces Charlie to help him pull off a heist in order to pay off his debts. However, their plan goes awry and they end up on the run from both the mob and the police.

As the cousins struggle to stay one step ahead of their pursuers, they must confront their own demons and decide what is truly important to them. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the consequences of one's actions.

The Pope of Greenwich Village features standout performances from its lead actors, Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts, and is praised for its gritty portrayal of New York City's criminal underworld.
