The Reliant is a story about a father who loses his daughter and is sent to prison. Seven years later, he decides to seek revenge against the doctor who was unable to save her.
Meanwhile, the country is in turmoil, facing social and economic unrest, riots, murder, and looting. The father's quest for revenge, along with the chaos caused by rioters and outlaws, leads to death and destruction in a family, forcing them to flee to the wilderness.
Throughout the ordeal, faith is tested, family bonds are strained, and the question of trust in God and each other arises. Will they be able to survive in this harsh new reality? Are they truly alone, or is there hope beyond the chaos?
