Synopsis

The Star Chamber is a 1983 American crime thriller film directed by Peter Hyams. The story follows a group of judges who become frustrated with the limitations of the legal system and decide to take matters into their own hands.

When they form a secret group known as the Star Chamber, they begin to review cases of criminals who have escaped justice due to technicalities. The judges then mete out their own form of vigilante justice, ordering hits on the criminals they deem guilty.

However, as the body count rises, one of the judges begins to question the morality of their actions and the consequences of playing God. The film explores themes of justice, morality, and the dangers of unchecked power.

The Star Chamber features a stellar cast including Michael Douglas, Hal Holbrook, and Yaphet Kotto. It was well-received by critics for its suspenseful plot and thought-provoking themes.
