Tucker: The Man and His Dream is a semi-fictionalized account of engineer Preston Tucker's quest to manufacture his revolutionary car of the future. The story is set during WWII, with Tucker wanting to supply the pent up demand of the American consumer in the post-war era.
His design takes into account the deficiencies he sees in the cars being produced by the Big Three manufacturers. With the help of his inner circle of supporters, including his family, Tucker starts working on his dream in rural Ypsilanti, Michigan.
He hires Abe Karatz to assist with financing and administrative plans, although Abe initially admits he is motivated by money rather than Tucker's vision. As they work to raise money through publicity, they face opposition from those who only see dollar signs and resist change.
The biggest obstacle for Tucker and his group is the opposition from the Big Three manufacturers, who view Tucker as a threat to their way of life. With powerful allies in their corner, Tucker must navigate the challenges of bringing his dream to life in the face of powerful opposition.
