Synopsis

What Time Is It There?

In this Taiwanese film, a young watch vendor named Hsiao-Kang sells a watch to a young woman who is about to leave for Paris. After their encounter, Hsiao-Kang becomes obsessed with Paris and changes all the clocks in Taipei to Paris time.

Meanwhile, the young woman, Shiang-Chyi, struggles with her new life in Paris and constantly calls Hsiao-Kang to ask him what time it is in Taipei. Their phone calls become a way for them to connect and cope with their loneliness.

As Hsiao-Kang's obsession grows, he starts to believe that he can communicate with his deceased father by changing the time on his watch. The film explores themes of loneliness, connection, and the passage of time.
