Wild Bees is a series that takes place in the fictional village of Diafani in Thessaly. The Sevastos family, which means "Augustus" in Greek, have been powerful landowners for generations. Doukas Sevastos inherited the family property after his brother Miltiadis Sevastos was apparently disinherited during World War II. The two brothers have been enemies ever since.
Doukas, also known as "Duke" in Greek, rules the area with an iron fist and has power over local politicians. Despite his power, he is still greedy and needs the lands of the Stamiris family to fulfill an ambitious plan. In 1958, Doukas has landowner Giorgis Stamiris poisoned to death, who had no sons but three daughters: Eleni, Asimina, and Droso Stamiri.
Doukas believes it will be easy to push the Stamiris sisters into selling the family lands, but Eleni turns out to be a stubborn rival. She is determined to cultivate her own land and demand the same rights as male landowners.
