Synopsis

Wonder Woman is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

The film tells the story of Diana Prince, an Amazonian warrior princess who leaves her home on the island of Themyscira to fight alongside the Allies in World War I. As she discovers her full powers and true destiny, she becomes Wonder Woman, a symbol of hope and justice.

Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman, with Chris Pine co-starring as Steve Trevor, a pilot who becomes Diana's love interest and ally in the war. The film was directed by Patty Jenkins and received critical acclaim for its portrayal of a strong, independent female superhero.

Wonder Woman was a box office success, grossing over $800 million worldwide. It was praised for its action sequences, performances, and themes of empowerment and heroism. The film's success led to a sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, which was released in 2020.
