El pergamino se disuelve en la imagen de la corona inglesa, suspendida sobre el trono de coronación. Abajo, Eduardo IV (Cedric Hardwicke) está siendo coronado, con sus hermanos y la corte en plena asistencia. Ricardo, Duque de Gloucester (Laurence Olivier), su hermano, intercambia miradas con el Duque de Buckingham (Ralph Richardson), su primo, y procede a seguir al nuevo rey hacia la sala del trono. Allí, Ricardo y su otro hermano, Jorge, Duque de Clarence (John Gielgud), muestran su afecto hacia los hijos de Eduardo (Paul Huson y Andy Shine), a la vista de la Reina Isabel (Mary Kerridge).
