Sinopse

Tendo salvo o cosmos após os eventos de Guardiões da Galáxia (2014), os agora famosos defensores intergalácticos de Star-Lord encontram-se com as costas contra a parede após a Batalha de Xandar.

E tendo falhado em proteger as Baterias Anulax, a fonte mais potente de energia em todo o universo, os Guardiões fizeram um novo inimigo: Ayesha, a Alta Sacerdotisa Dourada da raça extragaláctica geneticamente modificada e tecnologicamente avançada conhecida como Os Soberanos.

Para piorar, a equipe tem um encontro casual com um ser misterioso chamado Ego e um personagem durão do passado.
