Synopsis

The lives of Medor and his young adult nephew Edmund, independent of each other, have been on a decline without each really realizing it until each simultaneously hits bottom. An accountant working for the same company for thirty years, Medor has become his current boss Haboubi's whipping boy. Medor has also not taken any risks in life so as not to rock the boat with his wife Gwen, his actions having the exact opposite effect in she feeling that their marriage has gone nowhere. Edmund, a dreamer, has not achieved anything close to matching any of those dreams. He has just dropped out of college realizing that an art history degree would get him nowhere closer to those dreams, and his latest girlfriend, Jessica, has just dumped him without warning. Waking up the morning after a drunken spree between uncle and nephew to commiserate with each other, Edmund finds that Medor has taken him up on his drunken offer to use his life savings - really his parents' money that was supposed to be used for his tuition - and has sunken it into a three year lease on a property to fulfill Medor's dream: to be the executive chef at his own restaurant. Feeling like he has no other option, Edmund goes along with Medor on this ride with its many obstacles including what to do about the homeless man that literally comes with the property leased. The question then becomes if the restaurant will get Medor and/or Edmund on the path back to the living, that path which has the obstacle of certain individuals wanting to see them fail, most notably Mortimer, a competitor who owns fourteen restaurants in the neighborhood.
