Synopsis

"Swept from the Sea" is a romantic drama film based on the short story "Amy Foster" by Joseph Conrad. The story follows a young Russian immigrant named Yanko Gooral who is shipwrecked on the coast of Cornwall. He is rescued by a local woman named Amy Foster, who takes him in and cares for him. Despite the language barrier and cultural differences, Yanko and Amy form a deep connection and fall in love.

However, their relationship is met with resistance from the close-minded villagers who view Yanko as an outsider. As their love is put to the test, Yanko must navigate the challenges of being a foreigner in a hostile community while Amy struggles to stand by him.

The film explores themes of love, acceptance, and the power of human connection. It is a poignant tale of two individuals from different worlds who find solace and understanding in each other's arms.
