Synopsis

Over the course of a balmy summer on the East Coast, an introverted, bespectacled teenager is drawn into the strange and enchanting world of his bohemian neighbors. What unfolds, against the backdrop of lush flower beds and overgrown vegetable patches, is a light-hearted tale of unlikely friendships rekindled. But despite its wine-soaked, pot-infused reverie, Breakfast is firmly rooted in reality. The labyrinthine purple house where the action takes place is from writer/director/co-star Laura Colella, and her captivating cast is made up of her own housemates and neighbors. Despite the homespun focus and unbridled narrative, Colella's tale has a distinct vision and a clear intention, one gleefully dedicated to the pleasure principle.
