Synopsis

Carrington is a 1995 British biographical film directed by Christopher Hampton about the life of the English painter Dora Carrington (1893–1932), who was known simply as "Carrington". The screenplay is based on biographies of writer and critic Lytton Strachey (1880–1932) by Michael Holroyd.

The film is divided into six sections, each section depicting a different period in the lives of Carrington and Strachey. The film explores their unconventional relationship, which was marked by their deep emotional connection and mutual support, despite Strachey's homosexuality.

Emma Thompson stars as Carrington, while Jonathan Pryce portrays Strachey. The film received critical acclaim for its performances and direction, with Thompson earning a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
