Synopsis

Desert One is a documentary film that tells the story of the failed 1980 mission to rescue American hostages in Iran. The film explores the events leading up to the mission, the planning and execution of the operation, and the tragic outcome that resulted in the deaths of eight American servicemen.

The film features interviews with key players involved in the mission, including President Jimmy Carter, Vice President Walter Mondale, and members of the special operations forces who participated in the operation. Through archival footage and reenactments, Desert One provides a detailed account of the mission and the political and military decisions that shaped its outcome.

Desert One sheds light on a little-known chapter of American history and raises questions about the complexities of military operations and the impact of political decisions on the lives of those involved.
