Synopsis

Dolemite Is My Name is a biographical comedy film that tells the story of Rudy Ray Moore, a struggling comedian and rap artist who becomes a legend in the 1970s.

After years of trying to make it in show business, Rudy creates the character of Dolemite, a pimp with a larger-than-life personality. With the help of his friends, Rudy produces a low-budget film featuring Dolemite that becomes a surprise hit in the Blaxploitation genre.
