Elvis Gratton: Le king des kings
Elvis Gratton wins the Elvis Presley impersonation contest and earns a trip to Santa Banana. Accompanied by his wife Linda, they spend a week in the tropics. A week full of adventures and unexpected incidents. Back in Quebec, Elvis is determined to restore the moral values of our society. Will our national hero of the beer belly succeed in reforming society in his own way? Because there is an Elvis Gratton sleeping in every Quebecer......Behind the crude and vulgar appearance of this satire of the average Quebecer, Elvis Gratton, the film remains forever a cult and immortal film. Beyond the farce and flat jokes, the film is one of the most powerful independentist political tracts ever produced in Quebec. Hidden behind tons of nullity and stupidity, Gratton and his tacky and dirty side resemble us a little, we the colonized of America. There is also a deep humanity in the characters of Falardeau and Poulin. Their loving gaze makes him endearing to the point of making him perfectly adorable.
