Green River Killer
In the 1980s, the city of Seattle was terrorized by a serial killer known as the Green River Killer. This individual targeted young women, mostly prostitutes, and left their bodies in remote areas near the Green River. After a lengthy investigation, Gary Ridgway was finally arrested in 2001 and confessed to the murders of 48 women. He was eventually convicted of 49 counts of murder and is currently serving a life sentence in prison.
