Synopsis

A group of Taoist monks are stranded in Aidensfield when their bus breaks down on the way to a Taoist monastery near Middlesbrough. But their presence is a thorn in the side of Councilor Jowett, who tries to raise a united front against them. Things do not improve when one of the monks is very ill and is taken to the hospital. People fear that he is suffering from tuberculosis, from which notorious thief Terry "Non Stick" Tinniswood supposedly died that very morning. Tinniswood's widow, Rosie, is especially nervous because her two children, Julie and Eddie, were on the monks' bus stealing a gold statuette. Chips from the old block so to speak.
