Synopsis

Luce is a psychological thriller that follows the story of a young man named Luce Edgar, who was adopted from war-torn Eritrea by a white American couple. Luce is a star student and athlete, loved by his teachers and classmates. However, when a teacher discovers something troubling in his locker, Luce's perfect facade begins to unravel.

As the school and his parents dig deeper into Luce's past, they uncover dark secrets that challenge their beliefs about race, privilege, and identity. Luce's adoptive mother, Amy, is forced to confront her own biases and fears as she tries to protect her son.

The film raises thought-provoking questions about the complexities of race, power dynamics, and the expectations placed on individuals based on their backgrounds. Luce forces viewers to confront their own prejudices and assumptions, making it a gripping and timely exploration of identity and privilege.
