Thinking along the same lines as Rob in Nekromantik (1988), Monika, a young and beautiful Berliner, is leading a double life. By day, she is a solicitous hospital nurse; however, no one knows that Monika roams the city's graveyards at night, searching for fresh cadavers. And when Monika stumbles upon the news of an unfortunate stranger's suicide in the obituaries, things take a grotesquely unexpected turn because, in Monika's eyes, death is not always the end.
As the determined woman gets to work and exhumes the cold and pale corpse of the recently deceased man, Monika does the unthinkable: she brings it home right under the nose of her new sweetheart, Mark. But under those volatile circumstances, Monika's unappeased necrophilic obsession threatens to surface, and sooner or later, she will have to make a pivotal decision. Is Monika capable of showing affection to the living, or will she give all her love to what was once alive?
