Raised on a farm, the energetic and fearless Fynn is eager to join Uncle August at the royal castle as an apprentice in the stables. He is quickly humiliated for having inadvertently challenged Prince Eric to sword fighting, but receives discreet lessons from his surprisingly capable relatives. Like many high aristocrats, Eric boldly sets out to win the hand of a princess and the royal crown in a century-old haunted castle, but is fatally defeated by its impenetrable shroud of thorny vines. Having learned more from August about the curse, Fynn also gets a chance, but in a different way and with better results.
