Synopsis

"Taxi! Taxi!" is a social comedy set in the metropolitan city-state of Singapore, told through the encounters of two characters who are in what is perceived as the most sociable profession of taxi drivers on the island. Inspired by the real-life accounts of famed blogger Dr. Cai Mingjie as a taxi driver in his bestseller "Diary of a Taxi Driver: True Stories of Singapore's Most Educated Taxi Driver", the film follows the trials and tribulations of a retired microbiology scientist, Professor Chua, how to drive a taxi again after several failed attempts at work. Along the way, he befriends (although they didn't start out as friends from the beginning) with a veteran taxi driver, Ah Tau. The two men, who seem to be polar opposites of each other in everything from educational levels, personalities, attitudes towards life, and even the languages ​​they speak, eventually find themselves interdependent and influencing each other in ways they probably never would. they imagined. .
