Synopsis

The Curse of Steptoe is a British television drama that tells the story of the strained relationship between actors Harry H. Corbett and Wilfrid Brambell, who played father and son in the popular 1960s sitcom Steptoe and Son.

The show explores the intense rivalry between the two actors, as well as the personal demons that haunted them both. Corbett, who played the ambitious and talented son, struggled with the frustration of being typecast in the role and the disdain he felt from the acting community. Brambell, who played the lazy and sly father, battled his own demons and addictions.

The Curse of Steptoe delves into the dark side of fame and the price that both actors paid for their success. It is a compelling and tragic tale of two men who were forever linked by their iconic roles, yet tormented by their personal demons.
