Synopsis

The Dreamers is a novel that follows the story of three young adults who form a close bond while living in Paris during the turbulent political events of May 1968. The trio, Matthew, Theo, and Isabelle, share a love for cinema and spend their days watching classic films in their shared apartment.

As the protests and strikes escalate in the city, the three friends become increasingly isolated from the outside world, immersing themselves in their own fantasies and dreams. Their relationship deepens as they explore their desires and fears, blurring the lines between reality and fiction.

However, their idyllic existence is shattered when Isabelle's parents discover the extent of their intimacy and demand that she return home. The trio is forced to confront the harsh realities of adulthood and the consequences of their actions.

The Dreamers is a poignant exploration of youth, rebellion, and the power of cinema to shape our perceptions of the world. It raises questions about the nature of friendship, love, and the sacrifices we make in pursuit of our dreams.
