Synopsis

The Turning is a modern adaptation of Henry James' classic novella "The Turn of the Screw." The story follows a young governess who is hired to take care of two orphaned children at a remote estate in Maine. As she settles into her new role, she begins to experience strange and unsettling occurrences that lead her to believe the children are being haunted by supernatural forces.

As the governess delves deeper into the mystery, she uncovers dark secrets about the estate's past and the previous caretakers who met tragic ends. She becomes increasingly paranoid and fearful for the children's safety, but struggles to convince others of the danger they are in.

The Turning is a chilling psychological thriller that explores themes of isolation, paranoia, and the blurred lines between reality and imagination. The film keeps viewers on edge as they question what is truly happening at the estate and whether the governess is a reliable narrator or descending into madness.
