Synopsis

To the Stars is a coming-of-age drama set in the 1960s in a small town in Oklahoma. The story follows Iris Deerborne, a shy and awkward teenager who befriends the new girl in town, Maggie Richmond. Maggie is confident and rebellious, everything Iris wishes she could be.

As their friendship grows, Iris starts to come out of her shell and explore her own desires and ambitions. However, their friendship is tested when secrets from Maggie's past come to light, threatening to tear them apart.

Through their journey of self-discovery and friendship, To the Stars explores themes of identity, acceptance, and the complexities of female relationships. The film beautifully captures the nostalgia and innocence of adolescence, while also delving into the darker aspects of growing up in a small, close-minded community.
