"Bathtime in Clerkenwell" is a two-dimensional animated short film set in a black and white world. The story follows a sleeping man who is woken up by a series of birds sent by a cuckoo clock. Despite his efforts to resist, the man eventually finds himself in a bathtub with the shower head spraying.
Throughout the film, there are images of mechanical assembly lines and bobbies keeping watch outside. The scenes are filled with metamorphoses, flying heads, and anarchy, all set to a fast-paced, repetitive vocalese soundtrack.
The film has received several awards, including the Jury Award for Best Animation at Sundance Online Film Festival 2004, the Grand Jury Award for Best Animated Short at Florida Film Festival 2003, and the Best of Show Award from ASIFA-East 2003. It has also been recognized for its music and fantastic imagery at the Ottawa Animated Film Festival 2004 and has won prizes at KROK -2003 (Russia-Ukraine) and the Boston Underground Film Festival.
