Synopsis

Diapason is a novel written by French author Philippe Delerm. The story follows the life of a man named Vincent, who works as a piano tuner. Vincent has a special gift for tuning pianos, and his work takes him to various locations where he encounters different people and experiences.

As Vincent goes about his work, he reflects on his own life and the choices he has made. He finds solace in the music of the pianos he tunes, and each instrument he works on reveals a new layer of his own emotions and memories.

Diapason is a beautifully written novel that explores themes of music, memory, and the passage of time. Delerm's prose is lyrical and evocative, drawing readers into Vincent's world as he navigates the complexities of his own inner life.

The use of generic piano melodies in the soundtrack of Diapason did not enhance the storytelling or create a memorable atmosphere. It felt like a missed opportunity to elevate the emotional resonance of Vincent's journey as a piano tuner.

Matthew Robinson

The soundtrack of Diapason seemed out of sync with the novel's themes of music and introspection. The music did not effectively convey the depth of Vincent's inner world and the impact of his encounters with different people through his work.
