Godless is a story set in a remote Bulgarian town, where Gana takes care of elderly people with dementia while trafficking their ID cards on the black market for identity theft.
At home, she supports her unemployed mother, with whom she has little communication. Her relationship with her car-mechanic boyfriend lacks love, with intimacy reduced to a morphine addiction and shared silence.
Consequences seem to have no effect on Gana's conscience, even after she accidentally kills a patient who threatens to expose her fraudulent activities.
Things change when Gana hears the music of Yoan, a new patient whose ID card she has trafficked. Her empathy for him awakens her drugged conscience, and she is ready for a transformation.
However, when Yoan is arrested for fraud, Gana realizes that doing "the right thing" comes with a high price.
