Kandahar is a 2001 Iranian film directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf. The film follows Nafas, an Afghan-Canadian journalist who receives a letter from her sister in Afghanistan, revealing that she plans to commit suicide on the last solar eclipse before the 21st century. Nafas embarks on a dangerous journey through Taliban-controlled territory to reach her sister in Kandahar and prevent her from taking her own life.
