Synopsis

Suffering from writer's block and some curious ailments, Reiko (Nakatani Miki) moves to a countryside villa at her editor's (Nishijima Hidetoshi) beckoning to quietly work on her next novel. Her new environment turns out to be anything but peaceful, though, when she sees her next-door neighbor, professor Minoru Yoshioka (Toyokawa Etsushi), surreptitiously moving a thousand-year-old mummified corpse into his university lab for research.

Although Reiko and Yoshioka get off to a bumpy start, the two grow closer over time, enough so that Reiko eventually agrees to hide the mummy in her home. But the mummy isn't the only unlikely guest in her walls, as a female ghost also lurks disturbingly in the background. At first seemingly a quick trick of the eye, she grows clearer and more distinct by the day.

Michael Turner
6/10

The choice of music in Loft not only sets the mood for each scene but also helps to build tension and anticipation, making the film more compelling and memorable.

Laura Baker
2/10

The soundtrack of Loft lacks coherence and fails to create a consistent mood throughout the film. The music shifts abruptly from one scene to the next, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story.

David Miller
6/10

The sound design in Loft is particularly noteworthy, as it effectively conveys the sense of unease and foreboding that permeates the narrative, adding an extra layer of depth to the storytelling.

Mary Campbell
5/10

The soundtrack of Loft expertly captures the eerie and mysterious atmosphere of the film, enhancing the tension and suspense throughout the storyline.

Matthew Garcia
3/10

I found the musical score of Loft to be forgettable and unremarkable. None of the tracks stood out or left a lasting impression, which made it challenging to connect emotionally with the characters or the unfolding mystery.

Thomas Adams
6/10

The use of haunting melodies and subtle sound effects in the soundtrack adds depth to the supernatural elements presented in the movie, creating a chilling and immersive experience for the audience.

John Johnson
1/10

The choice of music in Loft often feels out of place and distracting. Instead of enhancing the suspense or emotional depth of the scenes, the soundtrack sometimes detracts from the overall viewing experience by drawing attention away from the plot.

Melissa Clark
5/10

The music in Loft effectively conveys the emotional turmoil and psychological complexity of the characters, enhancing the viewer's understanding of their inner struggles and motivations.
