Geeta Bhargav, pregnant and resident of Kanpur, lives a wealthy lifestyle with her husband, Balwant, and their three children: Shrikant, Arun and Usha. Her alcoholic and womanizing husband is arrested for killing a courtesan's bodyguard and is sentenced to 20 years in prison. She is then accused of luring men into her house and asked to move on. Homeless, on the brink of starvation, she is unable to feed her family and Usha passes away. She decides to remain a widow, she gets shelter, a job and enrolls Shrikant in a hostel. Then her luck changes for her when she is adopted by the wealthy J.S. Archarya, and she gives birth to Kirti. She explains her situation to Archarya, who gives him all her property and later passes away. Years later, Geeta will face more challenges when Archarya's associates accuse her of having an affair with an unknown man, and she too will be forced to deal with Arun, who is involved with a prostitute's daughter.
