Once upon a time, there was an old woman who baked a gingerbread man. As soon as she opened the oven, the gingerbread man jumped out and ran away. The old woman and her husband chased after him, but the gingerbread man was too fast for them.
Along the way, the gingerbread man met a cow, a horse, and a fox, who all tried to catch him. Each time, the gingerbread man taunted them with the phrase, "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!"
Finally, the gingerbread man came to a river and asked a sly fox to help him cross. The fox agreed, but as they reached the other side, the fox tossed the gingerbread man into the air and ate him in one bite.
The moral of the story is that pride comes before a fall, as the gingerbread man's arrogance led to his downfall.
