Angel of Evil tells the story of Renato Vallanzasca (Kim Rossi Stuart) and his group, from their crimes to their arrests and prison break, providing a glimpse into Italy's recent history.
In Milan during the seventies, the underworld is ruled by Francis Turatello (Francesco Scianna), known as "Faccia d'angelo" (Angel Face), until Vallanzasca's gang enters the scene.
Renato, the leader of the gang, started his criminal career early and is now surrounded by childhood friends, drug addicts, and delinquents, escalating from robbery to murder.
Renato meets Consuelo, a confident girl from the south, who stands by him from his first arrest to his escape from San Vittore prison.
However, Vallanzasca's criminal activities come to a halt after the killing of two policemen, leading to his arrest and imprisonment at Rebibbia.
Despite transfers between prisons, trials, and daring escapes, Renato's life as a fugitive continues with the support of childhood friend Antonella (Paz Vega).
Angel of Evil portrays the rise and fall of Renato Vallanzasca, showcasing his transformation from a rebellious youth to a notorious crime boss.
