Synopsis

An unpopular court decision by Municipal Judge Parker Denison (Richard Widmark) to bus select black students to white schools threatens to tear the community apart when two teenagers, one black and one white, steal and vandalize a school bus. in protest. , only one of the teenagers survives the brutal accident; the other runs off and hides. Tensions rise as family members anxiously await the results of the autopsy that identifies the body.
