Synopsis
There isn't a crisis situation they can't handle... unless they involve each other. Matt Flannery and Emily Lehman are the senior negotiators in the FBI's Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU). They are there to speak their way in volatile situations. They are experts in knowing what motivates other people. They're also sleeping together...a secret they agreed to keep to themselves, until Matt revealed it to the world during a tense hostage standoff. The public revelation causes friction between Matt, who doesn't take himself too seriously and relies on instinct, and Emily, an academic who analyzes her every move. Their relationship also lands them in serious trouble with her boss, Cheryl Carrera, director of CNU Los Angeles, and shocks her colleagues at CNU, including intelligence officer Lia Mathers.
